# See what TraceTail sees

The TraceTail script runs in this browser and shows your visitor ID, the time it took and every signal behind it. No sign-up needed.

## Your browser

Loading the TraceTail script…

Your visitor ID

- Signal quality

  - —
  - Signal completeness, not match probability

- Time

  - —
  - Measured in your browser, including the API call

- Automated browser

  - —
  - Headless Chrome, WebDriver

- Request ID

  - —
  - Returned by the API

## Signals behind the ID

Exactly what the SDK collected in this browser.

## The code on this page

This page loads the same script you add to your site, with a demo key that only works on tracetail.io. Its requests go through the real API but are not stored or counted.

**index.html**

```html
<script src="https://tracetail.io/sdk.js" data-api-key="YOUR_API_KEY"></script>
<script>
  TraceTail.generateFingerprint().then(({ visitorId }) => {
    // Send visitorId to your backend with the request you want to recognize.
  });
</script>
```

The button calls `TraceTail.generateFingerprint({ verbose: true, refresh: true })`: `verbose` adds the signals to the result, and `refresh` skips the cache so each run is measured again.

### Without a key

The script computes the same visitor ID in the browser and sends nothing. Use it to try TraceTail on any page; nothing shows in a dashboard.

### With your key

Each identification is also registered with the API: it counts toward your usage, shows in your dashboard and returns a request ID and a bot check. Keys only work on the domains you register.

## Add it to your site

1,000 identification requests a month are free, with no card required.
